THE POWER OF PLACE BASED LEARNING

ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION

Creating authentic, exceptional learning experiences for young people focused on entrepreneurship, the BUILD digital strategy lays the groundwork for digital communication and interactions between learners, teachers, and other community members. This social entrepreneurship training helps students develop a deeper understanding of global challenges such as climate change, socio-economic inequality, gender bias and peacebuilding. Using the Human-Centered Design Thinking Model, BUILD Design Challenges helps learners not only improve their academic outcomes and gain access to a wide range of future academic and professional opportunities, but it also develops their sense of empathy and compassion, learning to work respectfully with others. BUILD ignites the power of youth in under-resourced communities to build career success, entrepreneurial mindsets, and opportunity.

BUILD

LIVING, LEARNING, AND
WORKING SPACES

With the need for affordable housing plaguing many of our communities, BCCG partners with both local school districts and private management organizations to bring mutually beneficial solutions to both graduates and new teachers alike. Living, learning and working initiatives have provided residency halls and off campus living to first generation students as they persistent to and through graduation and launch their professional career. More than just apartments, these programs provide students with the supports they need to advance academically and build the resilience they need to graduate. Through private partnerships, similar teacher residency programs focus on recruitment and retention of top talent to the profession. These unique spaces provide both both affordable housing options as well as integrated professional development centers and resources to support the first years of teaching. As a strategic partner, BCCG is committed to design and construct communities of practice that are both flexible and affordable.

ProjectDestined3.png

Serving students in 35 cities across the U.S., U.K., Canada and Europe, Project Destined is a social impact platform designed and developed in partnership with over 250 businesses, entrepreneurs and educators.  The Project Destined virtual learning platform and curriculum is specifically design to support learning of minority students in the areas of real estate, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.  Through e-learning coursework, bridge programs and virtual internships, students explore how property investments in their own neighborhood work, how to value buildings, how mortgages work and how investors decide if a property is worth buying.  Founded in 2016, Project Destined serves approximately 2,500 students each year.
